when everything has a place

I am all about baskets and bins and labels. I have noticed that when everything has a place, the home as a whole feels more peaceful. there is a system. it forms almost an innate rhythm. searching endlessly for something isn’t necessary any more, and the regular practice of minimizing and donating feels less overwhelming because it can be done bin by bin. I have found this system has made the logistics of two under two a touch easier; kids learn where things are and where they go back to. also bins give this measurement of when there is too much aka if a basket of toys is overflowing, it’s time to go through it and give away some things.

we are teaching ryv to clean up after himself and have fun doing it
+ are showing him to-dos around the house are not “chores” but just part of every day life in a home. no awards needed but rather a way to instinctively help around the house. (loved this tip from hunt, gather, parent)

not to mention, it makes things like formula more aesthetically pleasing and practically easier to scoop into a bottle which seems to be just good for the soul.

these are my go tos for organizing.

these sustainable bins are ones I will use forever.

these glass storage containers from amazon are so good

and of course bamboo organizers for all of the drawers and cabinets all around the house

these eco glass canisters are so pretty too and look great on a counter

this is the label maker I use
