lsk launch// a new chapter, laurenscruggskennedy.com

in my last year of college, i found myself a texas girl in the heart of new york city interning in the wardrobe department at gossip girl and working in the corporate showroom of michael kors. fresh in my twenties and finishing school, i had a desire for a career set in fashion and began reporting for fashion week seasonally in cities like montreal, new york, and paris. it was then that i discovered my unique affection for writing and style.

as time went on, i began to wonder what life would look like if i combined my heart for storytelling with my passions outside of the fashion industry. i enjoyed clothes, but i also had a deep desire to share more on topics like relationships, my current favorite brands, or thoughts i had about life.

it was 2011–and before being an influencer was a job title, i heard of the career path called blogging. at the time, i only knew of two other bloggers, and although it seemed like a risk, i stepped out in faith, settled myself in dallas, and began to chase my dreams of blogging as a profession. the blog, at first called lolomag, was born.

i began to write regularly about topics i loved–but even though i had this desire to share more, fashion always seemed to be the main reason for having a blog at the time. but it wasn’t long after the launch of lolomag that everything changed.

after my accident in december of 2011, i took two years away from the blog to focus on recovery and rehabilitation. everything in my life suddenly shifted to my health, and it was then that i began to learn about the power of wellness. i decided to devote myself to the idea of total wholeness, and became immersed with finding expert reasoning and research as to why our bodies feel the way they feel–and how our lifestyle, environment, and what we consume can affect them.

in 2013, i returned to lolomag with a new found passion for the things i once loved so dearly–style, relationships, thoughts–and now a desire to share more about creating a lifestyle centered around wellness.

simultaneously, my best friend and i started our own clean, non-toxic self care brand. during this time, i also was dating and became engaged to my now husband, jason, which led me to move my life from dallas to los angeles, where i rebranded the blog, finally settling in at its proper title laurenscruggskennedy.com.

at the center of this journey, there have always been a few constants–the blog being one of them, which incorporates some of my developed sentiments, my relationship with my husband and the life we’ve built together, and my journey towards full health.

after my accident, it seemed only natural that i would start to write more about wellness and pursuing a lifestyle around clean-living–but little did I know my interest in finding personal healing would transform my lifestyle, my convictions, where i live, how i eat, what i think about, the relationships i form, and even the career path i’ve settled on.

since then, i’ve expanded what i thought would only ever be a platform to talk about fashion to a space dedicated to wholeness, health, and joy. i always wanted to do something deeper than talking about clothes–but i never thought i would be able to create a place where i could empower, equip, and educate others on their own personal journey towards clean living.

along the way i’ve formed so many relationships with like-minded brands i’ve come to call friends, transformed our home from top to bottom using entirely clean materials, started a non-toxic, clean self-care brand that is continually growing, and launched a program that helps individuals tackle the transition to clean-living, one step at a time. with hundreds of products sold, programs bought, and lives transformed, i am overwhelmed by the support of those who have done this journey with me and who have chosen to start one on their own.

the year is now 2020–over a decade later and after two different blog names, a handful of cities, a life-altering tragedy, a few book releases, a husband, multiple homes, several businesses, a world-wide pandemic, and a puppy named bennie, i am once again relaunching this platform.

i hope my experience encourages you. i hope this story is proof to you of how beautiful and complicated and unexpected and joyous life can be. i hope it reflects what i have found to be true–that life is a journey, not a series of destinations marked out in a ten year plan. it involves risk, failure, and heartache–as much as it involves sureties, victories, and laughter. life is a journey of balance.

this space, laurenscruggskennedy.com, is a lifestyle-based community rooted in balance – a space dedicated to wholeness, health, and joy that exists to empower, equip, and educate others on their journey to clean living, wherever they might be.

while you’re here, i hope you feel all of the above. i hope you reflect often, are challenged frequently, inspired regularly, and walk away each time knowing you are supported.

i’m sharing my journey with you–in hopes that it will impact your own.

here are a few things i share about here –

clean living// the center of it all–culminating in my clean-living program, the clean sweep. while i include years of experience, expert opinions and research in my guidebook–we are all forever on the journey of clean living. i am constantly learning new things about wellness–from food, to products and practices–and i love to share my latest findings here.

food// incorporating my desire to live a clean lifestyle, i share my favorites in the kitchen–from recipes i’ve used for years as staples, grocery list items you must have, to educational posts on different food types and how it affects our bodies. all you need to know; updated regularly.

interiors// an inspired interest i developed while transitioning our home to entirely non-toxic, clean materials including my journey of interiors from pieces i include in my own home to inspo-worthy discoveries i find.

style// where it all started. though my life has evolved in so many ways, clothing, style and fashion will always be passions i’ll hold dear to my heart. sharing with you my current wardrobe picks, items i have in my closet, sustainable brands I’m loving, and of course those wishlist items.

thoughts// above all, i am constantly reflecting. while so much of what i do is focused on what would appear to be outer health, i’m just as passionate, if not more, about inner health and wellness, and how it plays a part in the total picture of being whole. sharing with you my current thoughts, practices, and reflections, in hopes that you would be inspired to do the same.

that’s everything! for now…

thank you for doing this journey with me. i hope together, we can pursue a lifestyle rooted in balance.

xo,
lauren
