nyfw day 7.
before i begin, i would just like to note that i am absolutely adoring the wide leg trousers and long hemlines this season. such a fresh turn from skinnies and minis!! so, the lovely february 15 began with a trip to silvercup studios to interview gossip girl's costume designer, eric daman. how i miss taking the Q train all the way to queensboro plaza! it is always a treat to visit my sweet friends in wardrobe; they all hold such a special place in my heart. some pro filmers (i like to call them), alex and aaron craig joined me and shannon on the excursion, and we had a grand time. we left with some rockin footage, and we might have filmed a scene on set? the spontaneity that occurs in this city is beyond me, and i can't get enough.shannon and i subwayed it down to soho to meet her mom and aunt at mercer kitchen: one of my favorite spots tucked underground on prince street. the atmosphere is pure bliss, and the mercer burger was so scrumptious. with an hour to spare, i made my way across town to the marc by marc jacobs show. i found myself in gramercy (my old neighborhood), reminiscing on some of my greatest memories, all the while scouting out some new spots to call my favorite. i stumbled upon 'my way coffee', and my heart melted by its charm. it was a narrow little place with an organic feel. it has officially made my master nyc list.
garance dore, the sartorialist, and anna dello russo chatting it up before the show.i arrived to a bustling crowd of fascinating people! the collection was too much fun--patterns bursted with spunky colors, and chunky wedge booties kept hemlines from dragging on the floor. SPOTTED: a slew of bloggers, anna dello russo in a gold fringe leather coat, and bryanboy (gotta love him). the most exhilarating part: two of my all time favorite up and comers walked--arizona muse and lindsey wixon. sheer amazingness. i met susie bubble on my way out, and watched the sartorialist work his magic on the street.
on my way to topshop…aka the store that has a frequent place in my dreams. this could have been dangerous, but i left with nothing in hand. now that is a miracle. off to enjoy the new york city ballet with shannon. these shows are so stunningly graceful and always a delight. what a wonderful and calming end to a joyfully hectic day. au revoir!to watch the finale of marc by marc jacobs, go here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAZb07d3Mc8&w=480&h=390]
